18th & 19th October 2014- Porsche Boxter Challenge

Just to mix the season up, it was decided to join Gary on a Porsche Boxster weekend at windswept Donington. As this was Alan’s first outing in the Boxster, a mid-table result was requested – and duly delivered! This was a real wheel-to-wheel racing outing, everything you’d expect from a single series championship. There were a couple of spills and thrills along the way – spinning on Gary’s ruptured radiator fluid at the top of Coppice kept things interesting and overall finishing 13th out of a field of nearly 30 cars was considered acceptable.

The highlight of the day was starting the last race in pole – a long story, but the history books will always show that Alan Purbrick started there.
